1917-1919- Sqd of the 19^th BG trained in “Jenny” flew Spad VIII fighters with British Vickers guns in WW I. Trained in US built British DH-4 equipped with US Liberty Engines – then deactivated in 1919

1923-1941 28^th Sqd activated and sent to Clark Field Philippines, flew B-3, B-18 & B-10 bombers

1932-1941 19^th Bomb Group with 30^th & 93^rd Sqd activated at Rockwell Fld CA & 1932 moved to March Army Air Fld, CA, where they flew B-10, B-18 and B-17 Bombers. Mar 19^th BG with 30th & 93rd Sqd moved to Albuquerque NM.

Dec 6, 1941 18 B-17s of 28^th & 30^th Sqd at Clark Field Luzon & 17 B-17s of 14^th & 93^rd Sqd at Del Monte Fld Mindanao.

Dec 6, 1941 38^th & 88^th Recon Sqds depart Hamilton Fld, CA with B-17s destined for Clark Field, Philippines.

Dec 7 Recon Sqds arrive Hawaii during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Same day Dec 8 (PI) 28^th and 30^th Sqd attacked by Japanese at Clark Field --all but two B-17s are destroyed. Dec 10 Colon Kelly killed after crew bails out, awarded DSC & becomes the first US WWII hero. Dec 8-14 B-17s flew from Clark Fld -- all supplies were at Clark Field

Dec 15-22 B-17s flew from Del Monte Fld, Clark could not be protected. Dec 24 Clark abandon, remaining 19^th BG personnel became Infantry, half on Battan & half on Mindanao. Dec 24-30 B-17s flew from Bachelor Fld Darwin Australia

Dec 31-1941 surviving 10 B-17s fly to Dutch Field Malang Java

1942 Jan – Feb 19^th flew from Malang Java -- all available B-17s & LB-30s flew Pacific & Atlantic route from US to Java.

Mar Java falls, 19^th BG reorganized in Australia 7^th BG reorganized in India

April Bataan falls, May Corregidor falls: hundreds of 19^th BG personnel become POWs many become American Guerrillas of Mindanao. May-July 19^th in the Battles of the Coral Sea, Guadalcanal & New Guinea.

Aug 28^th, 30^th & 93^rd Sqds to new Mareeba Field, Queensland, Australia, 435^th Sqd remains at Townsville.

Nov 1842 19^th BG personnel return to US to train and lead the new B-29 equipped 20^th AF.

June 25 1950 North Korean troops cross the 38^th Parallel into South Korea. June 30 19^th fly first mission.

1951-1954 July 1950 19^th moves to Kadena AFB, Okinawa & fly daily combat missions to Korea for the duration -- becomes 19^th Bomb Wing in 1953.

1955 19th returns to Guam, then to states, at Pinecastle AFB FL. B-29’s mothballed at Davis-Monthan AFB AZ

1956-1961 19^th moved to Homestead AFB FL & transition to B-47s. First large air refueling tanker KC-97 flown & utilized.

1962-1967 19th flew B-52 missions from Anderson Fld Guam during Vietnam war.

1969-1983 19^th to Robins AFB GA with B-52s & KC-135s. 28^th Sqd ANGuard Wichita KS flew B-1Bs in Iraq War.

1983-present 19^th becomes 19^th Air Refueling Group flew air refueling missions during Desert Storm & the Iraq War.
